Somersworth Police Update: Fatal Crash on Old Rochester Road

SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — The Somersworth Police Department has released an update on the November 7, 2025 motor vehicle–pedestrian crash on Old Rochester Road near Hickory Lane.

According to police, first responders were dispatched at approximately 4:41 p.m. for what became a fatal incident. The pedestrian, Steven Forrest of Somersworth, and his dog, Randall, were located at the scene. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and both were pronounced deceased on scene.


The driver, whose identity is not being released at this time, and a 2017 Volkswagen Golf were found a short distance from the scene. Police report the driver cooperated with the investigation.

The department stated that the incident is being investigated to determine whether there was fault or if it was a tragic accident. No further determinations were announced in today’s update.

Somersworth Police also urged vigilance by motorists and pedestrians, reminding the public to obey traffic laws. Pedestrians are recommended to wear light or reflective clothing, especially at night or during inclement weather. Pet owners are encouraged to place reflective gear on pets when walking them.
