November 25, 2025 — by Scanner Alerts Media

ROXBURY, Maine — The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a structure fire at a single-family residence on Horseshoe Valley Road in Roxbury. The fire was reported shortly after 2:00 p.m. Monday.

Responding fire crews found the home fully involved. Investigators determined the fire originated in the immediate area of the home’s woodstove and chimney system, most likely due to a chimney-related issue. The residence is considered a total loss.

No injuries were reported, and no pets were harmed.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office reminds homeowners to regularly inspect and maintain woodstoves and chimneys to reduce the risk of chimney fires during the heating season.
