The Town of Thomaston has appointed Eric Quatrano as its new Police Chief, highlighting his community-policing focus and more than 14 years of law enforcement experience.
Quatrano joined the department in February 2025 as a patrol officer and has quickly distinguished himself in service to the community. His background includes patrol experience in Windham, Maine, and advancement to sergeant at the Oxford Police Department. He describes his leadership style as “leading from the front” and being willing to take on any aspect of the job.
As chief, Quatrano plans to increase police visibility, strengthen community connections, and expand local community-policing initiatives. Town Manager Kara George cited his prior service, fresh perspective, and enthusiasm as strengths that will help build a positive department culture and strong relationships with residents. Quatrano plans to relocate his family to the area in the coming months.
A formal swearing-in and pinning ceremony is scheduled during the Select Board meeting on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Thomaston Municipal Building.
