By: Scanner Alerts Media Group

A three-vehicle crash near Exit 10 in Falmouth around 4:30 p.m. slowed I-295 to a crawl for more than an hour after a Subaru sedan struck stopped traffic, igniting a car fire in the passing lane. No injuries were reported.

According to the release, a Subaru operated by Emily Paskewicz of Southport failed to see heavy traffic ahead and struck an Audi sedan driven by Daniel Antolovich of Storrs, Connecticut. The impact pushed the Audi into a pickup truck driven by Chad Greelee of Richmond. The Subaru became disabled in the passing lane and caught fire; all occupants exited without injury. Falmouth Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire, and Troopers worked with fire and towing crews to clear the scene. Traffic was significantly slowed for over an hour before normal flow was restored.
