ALNA, Maine — An 18-year-old Whitefield man was arrested early Wednesday in connection with a reported shooting at a newly built home on Head Tide Hill Road in Alna, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Jacob McInnis Jr., 18, of Whitefield, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on January 14, 2026, at his home by Detective Sgt. Ron Rollins without incident. McInnis was charged with one count of Aggravated Criminal Mischief, a Class C felony, and one count of Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, a Class C felony.
The Sheriff’s Office said the charges stem from a week-long investigation that began on January 6, 2026, when deputies responded to a report of a house being shot on Head Tide Hill Road in Alna. The release states the home was newly built, and the owners had closed on it that same day and were starting to move in. Investigators reported that six rounds from a small-caliber weapon were discharged into the side of the home. The Sheriff’s Office said no one was home at the time of the shooting.
McInnis is being held on $1,500 cash bond at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset pending a court appearance, according to the release.
