BEDFORD, N.H. — A New Boston man was arrested early Sunday after New Hampshire State Police said he drove more than 100 mph and fled from a trooper before a crash in Bedford disabled his vehicle.
At 12:23 a.m. on December 14, 2025, Trooper Brian Knell of the Troop B barracks observed a white 2018 BMW 3 Series traveling 123 mph on Interstate 293 northbound near Exit 2 in Manchester. Police said the driver passed Trooper Knell and failed to stop when the trooper activated emergency lights, leading to a pursuit.
According to New Hampshire State Police, the vehicle continued onto Route 101 westbound and was observed taking the Kilton Road exit in Bedford and pulling into a parking lot. Troopers followed the BMW into the lot with emergency lights still activated, but police said the driver sped away again, this time onto South River Road.
On South River Road, police said the BMW struck a 2021 black Hyundai Palisade. The crash caused disabling damage to the BMW, which came to a full stop shortly afterward. The driver of the Hyundai Palisade was not injured.
The driver of the BMW was taken into custody and identified as Jose Munoz, 26, of New Boston. Munoz was arrested and charged with felony reckless conduct – deadly weapon. He was also charged with misdemeanor conduct after an accident, disobeying an officer, and criminal mischief, along with various violation-level offenses.
Police said Munoz was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack District Court on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
